I believe leadership changes everything.

 

It changes businesses. It changes communities. It changes families. And when the right people are equipped to lead well, it can change the trajectory of entire organizations and generations.

 

That belief has taken me into some incredible rooms—from corporate and government spaces to universities, international platforms, and faith communities around the world. For two decades, I’ve had the opportunity to help leaders communicate better, build stronger teams, navigate change, and become the kind of leaders people actually want to follow.

 

But I didn’t learn leadership from a textbook.

 

Before becoming a leadership strategist, speaker, and executive coach, I spent about 15 years in finance and sales as bank Vice President, financial advisor, mortgage consultant, and insurance professional. Over the course of my career, I’ve been part of closing nearly $1 billion in sales. That experience taught me something I’ve never forgotten: results matter—but sustainable results happen when you understand people.

 

Today, my wife Cheryl & I are the Presidents of Whitehead Leadership. We work with executives, organizations, government agencies, universities, businesses, and emerging leaders to build high-performance, people-centered cultures. I also serve as a Senior Consultant and Facilitator with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.

 

My work has allowed me to teach and develop leaders locally, nationally, and around the world.

 

And when I’m not talking leadership, I’ve also been known to sing and act a little on the side. I’ve spent years performing on stages across the country, sharing the stage with some incredible artists and bringing stories to life through music, theatre, and film. Creativity has always been part of who I am—and probably explains why you’ll rarely hear me teach leadership without a good story.

 

And underneath all of it is my faith.

 

My faith shapes how I understand purpose, people, stewardship, and impact. Cheryl and I also lead Destiny Global Church in Richmond, Virginia. We also lead a growing network, Destiny Global Connection, a synergistic group of churches, hubs, and businesses. But,  I’ve never believed purpose belongs only inside the walls of a church. I believe what God puts in you should make a difference wherever He places you.

 

So whether you’re leading a company, a team, a classroom, a community—or simply trying to become the leader your next season requires—my goal is simple:

 

I want to help you lead better, grow intentionally, and build something that matters.

 

Because leadership isn’t just what I teach.
